Post Professional DPT Student Assistant - Institutional Student Worker (Spring 2020)

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Post Professional DPT Student Assistant to assist Physical Therapy Department Chair and Dean by performing any number of the following duties: assist with academic and field research, develop teaching materials, assist in the classroom, outside academic assignments and activities in all PPDPT courses. The Student Assistant may also perform duties for faculty at the discretion of the Dean. Student Assistant will receive pay of $7.75/hour. Student Assistant will be expected to work 10 hours per week during Spring Semester.

The student's duties will include:

  • Classroom Assistance - guest lecturing, proctoring examinations, or providing support to the instructor during class sessions for faculty
  • Maintain office hours – Three (3) official office hours per week to provide support to students
  • General Instructor Support – Up to four (4) hours per week providing support to the instructor outside class including grading examinations, papers, and/or other assignments, devising examination, holding tutorials and/or review sessions, and maintaining student attendance records online.
  • Special project support – Assist faculty with development of special project, i.e. literature review, book chapter simulators
  • The position requires excellent public speaking, organizational and time management skills
  • Ablity to work with a diverse population
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker
  • Must have a graduate GPA of at least 3.0 if graduate courses have been completed
  • Sign an assistantship contract and complete all required employment paperwork
  • Must submit a graduate assistantship application and must be enrolled in the PPDPT Program
